Jinping County accelerates modernization through new industrial framework

County Industrial Restructuring in Jinping

Local officials are pushing forward with the region's modernization blueprint, targeting integrated growth across rural enterprises, manufacturing, and commercial services.

The county’s economic planning builds upon historical roots in Guizhou’s Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. In September and December 1934, the Red Army’s Sixth Corps and the Central Red Army passed through Jinping, leaving revolutionary markers such as the Yaoguang Hekou battle site. More than ninety years later, county leaders are using regional resources to reshape local commerce.

County Relies on Livestock and Goose Breeding

County Party Secretary Zhang Yidong stated that Jinping will anchor its trajectory to a modernized industrial framework designed to advance industrial strength, county development, and resident prosperity simultaneously. Under this framework, the local economy relies on specific sectoral pillars established during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

The primary sector centers on livestock, fruit orchards, and ecological fisheries. Ecological geese have emerged as a primary agricultural engine, with 61 breeding bases constructed across the county. Commodity goose output is projected to surpass one million birds, supported by a corporate partnership model that connects commercial entities with individual farmers. In tandem, the forestry sector spans 9.48万亩 of fruit cultivation, yielding an aggregate economic value of 1.84亿元 from crops including chestnuts, walnuts, and pears.

Shuttlecock Production Drives Local Manufacturing Exports

Industrial development in Jinping focuses on sports equipment manufacturing, complemented by stone processing, timber processing, and specialty food production. Badminton production serves as the industrial anchor for the county. Backed by incoming manufacturing enterprises, local output exceeded seven million dozens of shuttlecocks, generating 8.26亿元 in production value and reaching markets in more than 60 countries and regions.

To deepen the industrial chain, the county government is introducing supplementary manufacturing lines for rackets, specialized athletic footwear, and sports luggage. Meanwhile, the stone and timber sectors are shifting from raw material extraction to high-value processing, producing items such as billiard table slates, decorative wood panels, and solid wood flooring.

Tourists Visit Local Ancient Towns and Tournaments

Service industries in Jinping are scaling up around recreational sports and regional heritage. Capitalizing on its manufacturing base, the county has established the Guizhou “Village Badminton” tournament brand, drawing regional competitors and visitors while expanding related hospitality and retail sectors.

Local authorities are also upgrading tourism infrastructure at destinations such as the ancient town of Longli and Leitun, integrating ethnic minority culture and historical sites into the regional tourism market. Alongside tourism, Jinping's development plans incorporate producer services like logistics and financial support alongside eldercare and childcare services to strengthen community infrastructure.

Long-Term Industrial Targets Through 2030

Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Jinping County aims to elevate its industrial output value for primary manufacturing pillars past 35亿元 by 2030. Economic planners intend to utilize upgraded supply chains, expanded processing facilities, and diversified market channels to move local enterprises further up the regional value chain.
