NFC South 2024: Predictions & Power Shift?

National Conference – South Division

For several years, the southern division of the National Conference has been not very competitive. For four years, the Buccaneers have won the title of the section, without dominating too much. Everything suggests that Falcons can heat them this season and, given the way in which the Panthers played at the end of the course in 2024, anything is possible. The same cannot be said of the saints.

Better days

It is perhaps too optimistic to think that the Falcons will finally turn the corner because they rely on a change of quarterrier, but Michael Penix Jr seems to be the one who will bring them out of their torpor.

This team has not finished with a positive sheet since 2017, the last time she had qualified in playoffs. Any bad thing has an end and, in Penix, Atlanta will bet on a young very aggressive second-year-old quarter, which will open the game.

The attack line is stable, Drake London is established as an excellent recipient and the Bijan Robinson carrier is a formidable weapon on all facets.

Defensively, there are still question points and that is why we do not imagine falconons as a power either. The tertiary sector seems adequate, but the eternal problem is the inability of the front to join the opposing quarters. Two first -round choices (Walker and James Pearce milestone) were invested to solve this chronic disorder.

Prediction for 2025: 9-8 (division champions, series)

Key additions: Divine Deablo (second), Leonard Floyd (defensive winger)

Player to watch: It is not from chauvinism to believe that the Quebec guard Matthew Bergeron can experience a great season. He raised his game last season and is ripe for a second enticing contract.

Key departures: Drew Dalman (Center), Grady Jarrett (platform), Matthew Judon (defensive winger)

Buccaneers de Tampa Bay

Still in the blow

On paper, the Buccaneers seem difficult to dislodge from their throne in the south with a quarter-rear too often looked up at Baker Mayfield, a solid group of recipients, a good offensive line and an emerging bearer in Bucky Irving.

The latter caused a sensation as a recruit and is well completed by Rachaad White and Sean Tucker.

Mayfield, as incredible as it may seem, will be a 10e different offensive coordinator. It’s amazing, considering that he arrived in the league in 2018! It’s all up to his honor to perform as much.

Defensively, the portrait is not so rosy. Haason Reddick was brought on board, but he inspired nothing good last season.

In the tertiary sector, the marauder Antoine Winfield Jr may feel good alone. If the BUCs manage to register a barge of points every week, they can very well get out in this division, but it is not a guarantee.

Prediction for 2025: 8-9 (excluded from series)

Key addition: Haason Reddick (defensive winger)

Player to watch: The choice of first round, Emeka Egbuka, stood out this summer in the group of recipients. Without being the most spectacular, it is effective in everything it does.

Key departures: Robert Hainsey (Center), Joe Toryon-Shoyinka (defensive winger)

Caroline Panthers

An encouraging end

Remember that, despite the little impressive file of the panthers last season, a small light came in their helmets in the second half of the season. In the last nine games, they won four of their five victories. They also finished six points or less apart from chiefs, Eagles and Buccaneers.

One of the reasons for this unexpected revival of life was the emergence of Bryce Young. During this sequence, he launched 13 Touché passes and only four interceptions, in addition to registering five affected on the ground.

Panthers did not make update improvements, but when a team clicks at the end of the season, it often starts on the next fall bases.

In defense, the quarter bags are likely to be rare. There is still a lot to do. Besides big players like Derrick Brown and Jaycee Horn, it’s quite quiet.

Prediction for 2025: 6-11 (excluded from series)

Key additions: Rico Dowdle (porteur), Trevon Moehrig (maraudeur), Tershawn Wharton et Bobby Brown III (plaqueurs)

Player to watch: Tetairoa McMillan was drafted in the hope that he would become the new best friend of Bryce Young. At 6p4po and 220 pounds, he won the field.

Key departures: Adam Thielen (representation), Xavier Woods (maraudor)

Saint-Orleans saints

Towards a season of misery

The saints are our candidates of choice to decide in the front row of the draft next April. That’s already won.

The ball is entrusted to the second-year quarterrier Spencer Rattle, a choice of round dcinquième. We can already conclude that his rope will be very short and that the second round of this year, Tyler Shough, will get his luck.

In one case as in the other, they go to war with pumps. Chris Olave is the only receiver of the team that the opposing defenses can fear, but his repeated concussions do not make it a safe bet.

The dynamic carrier Alvin Kamara deserves respect, but, at 30, he approaches the wall and the saints have not known how to find him an effective complement for a few seasons.

Defensively, the front is perhaps one of the worst in the circuit. In the tertiary sector, let’s give Kool-Aid McKinstry a chance because he has a name that throws it, but the hopes are thin.

Prediction for 2025: 3-14 (excluded from series)

Key additions: Brandin Cooks It Davaple Vele (Recevors), Davon Godchax (Plaquor), Justin Rewards (Maredeur)

Player to watch: Kelvin Banks JR is the third offensive line player in four years to be chosen in the first round by the saints. It is time that this unit regains its way.

Key departures: Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Receiver), Tyrann Mathieu (Marauder), Paulson Adebo (Coin half)
