MLB Focuses on Mexico, Drops London Games by 2026

For the Great LeaguesMexico is a priority and has contemplated more games than those originally contemplated in April 2026, said Commissioner Rob Manfred.

Arizona’s diamondbacks and San Diego’s parents will probably play in Mexico City on April 25 and 26 of the year entering.

“We have worked very hard to develop better relationships with Mexican professional leagues,” Manfred told the journalist Ronald Blum.

We believe that we can finally build those relationships in a way that looks like Japan and Korea: the Professional Domestic League Prospera, but we have enough players who come to the United States to play, which drives our business here in the United States. ”

In contrast, London fans of baseball will be left wanting to see a projected series between the New York Yankees and Toronto tiles in 2026.

The Great Tent has already ruled out the plans to make two games in the capital of England next season due to programming problems with the London Olympic Stadium.

The MLB intended Yankees and Tiles to play in London on June 13 and 14but the West Ham, which moved to the Olympic stadium in 2016 (and has the rights to use for up to 99 years) plays there on May 24, which, according to the older ones, leaves very little time to turn the soccer field into one of baseball.

Las Major Leagues arrived in London for the first time in 2019, when the Yankees swept two games to Boston’s red socks. A series of two planned games between the Cardinals of San Luis and the Chicago puppies in 2020 was canceled by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Major intended to arrive in Paris this year, but the plans were canceled because the League and the Páoteros Union could not find promoter.

“We are still interested in Europe. We believe that London is an important starting point,” said Manfred. “We have an installation that has advanced a lot from the first Yankees-Red Medias game. It is a much better stadium thanks to your disposal to invest in that. We continue to believe that there is an opportunity there and that we can access the economies developed in Europe through that entry in London.”

Manfred said the MLB works in initiatives for India, due to the fans of that nation for the Cricket.
