Kodama Signs Pro Basketball Contract with Sanen Neo Phoenix

Kodama Junior, a standout player from Nihon Keizai University’s basketball program, has officially inked a deal with the B1 league’s Sanen Neo Phoenix for the 2025-26 season. This marks a important milestone for the sophomore from Fukuoka Daiichi High School, who has been making waves in the collegiate basketball scene.

Junior’s notable performance was recently recognized when he clinched the Best player Award at the All-Nihon University Basketball Rookie Tournament. His leadership was instrumental in guiding his team to a national championship victory, a historic achievement for universities outside the Kanto region as the federation’s inception. Even as he prepares for his professional debut, Junior will continue to compete in B League matches while still a member of the university team.

Reflecting on his journey, Junior expressed gratitude for the guidance he received. Director Katagiri has provided me with strict but loving guidance sence I started at the university, he stated.I’ve grown not only in my skills but also as a person.
