Manila – The world’s largest platform for illegal streams of live sports events was closed according to a leading anti-piracy organization. – Klajoo.com – The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) announced on Wednesday that she had teamed up with the Egyptian police to close “streamast”, which was visited more than 1.6 billion times last year.
Millions of people were able to access pirated streams of sporting events such as Premier League football, Formula 1 races and games of the Major League baseball.
The ACE chairman Charles Rivkin described this as a “resounding victory in the fight against the uncoveration, deterrent and framework of criminal perpetrators of digital piracy”.
“With this groundbreaking measure, we have given sports, entertainment companies and fans worldwide,” he said.
The hard resort was carried out after a report found that illegal sports streaming took place to “industrial extent”.
“With its 80 associated domains, Streameast is the largest illegal live sport streaming provider in the world,” said Rivkin.
“The side visits to the various domains mainly come from the USA, Canada, Great Britain, the Philippines and Germany,” he added.
According to Rivkin, two men in El-Sheikh Zaid near the Egyptian capital Cairo were arrested by the police for suspected copyright infringement.
In the raid, the authorities confiscated laptops and smartphones that were used to operate the website, as well as cash and credit cards.
