President of Cros Île-de-France, Evelyne Ciriegi reacts to the Imbroglio around the female athletes of the French boxing team, excluded from the Worlds.
Indignation at Cros Île-de-France, which transmits its reaction: “While the French boxing team is in Liverpool for the world championships, the Ile-de-France women’s athletes Wassila Lkhadiri (78) and Maélys Richol (91) are in an unacceptable and unjust situation: their exclusion from the competition with all tricolor boxers in obtaining gender tests imposed by the World Boxing. »»
President of Cros Île-de-France Evelyne Ciriegi expresses her deep indignation and provides full support for boxers and their supervision:
“It is unacceptable that female athletes once again undergo a gender injustice with a regulation that penalizes them-they have been preparing for so long and with so much rigor for a global deadline, find themselves deprived of competing and, once again, because they must” prove “their” femininity. The Lle-de-France region is a pool of talents and the ambassadors are You have to support everyday and up to the highest level as they are examples to follow ”.
Our boxers, recognized for their talent on the amateur circuit, are perfectly identified and supervised by a most competent staff. Punish them as well, while France is preparing to celebrate the first national day of sport, sends a negative end signal to all enthusiasts, volunteers and young sportsmen who believe in our values.
The interest of athletes must always be preserved. The Ile -de -France sports movement remains attentive to it and I firmly denounce the dysfunctions which led to this exclusion.
The procedures imposed must be reviewed, discussed collectively, while respecting sports and sports ethics. Boxing must remain the noble art. I send all my support for the teams, to the staff on site who must remain mobilized, as well as to President Dominique Nato, whom I know completely committed to this file. »»
And to conclude: the Cros Île-de-France stands alongside the regional league and the federation to defend equity, dignity and the rights of athletes.
