Over the summer there were transfer records in both men and women’s football. This emerges from the official report of the World Association FIFA.

The equivalent of more than eight billion euros ($ 9.76 billion) was spent in the men. This corresponds to an increase of more than 50 percent compared to the summer transfer window from the year before.

So far, the record was around six and a half billion euros (2023). The number of almost 12,000 international transfers is also a record. In the previous year there were 1,000 less transfers less.

“Exponential Growth” in women’s football

In women’s football, around 10 million euros ($ 12.3 million) were spent on transfers. This represents an increase of 80 percent compared to the period in 2024. The number of 1,100 transfers completed is also a record.

According to the legal and compliance director of FIFA, Emilio García Silvero, the transfer market in men’s and women’s football is booming. “This development is remarkable one year before the FIFA World Cup 2026-as well as the increase in women who underline the exponential growth of women’s football at club level.”
