DC Basketball Coach Honors Son with Networking Clinic – 2023

More than two years have passed since Blake Bozeman was shot dead in the Northeast of DC and only his father, the veteran university basketball coach Todd Bozeman, could have more than a brief conversation about it.

“We miss Blake. We miss him every day,” admitted Todd Bozeman. “We still have our moments.”

But this Sunday, he hopes to have a more positive moment, while working to honor his son’s legacy.

The Twenty2 Basketball Trainers Clinic and Networking Brunch They will be held at the Bishop McNamara high school in Forestville, Maryland. They will bring together NBA coaches and university teams, as well as other sports professionals, in a great Networking Brunch.

Whether you aspire to pay you for training one day or aspire to help your children to have fun and learn in a recreational league, the hope is that you go with something good of it.

“This is for all level coaches,” said Bozeman. “You can be a weekend coach. You can be a father or mother who is thinking of training one of the teams of girls and boys, men and women.”

“They will acquire many basketball knowledge,” he added. “We hope you learn things that allow them to improve, improve their players and programs. And you will see a leadership that formed here in the DMV.”

The Blake Bozeman Foundation It emphasizes mental health and the threat of armed violence, but also in financial education.

“It is never too soon or too late to think about financial education and how to put a position that allows you to protect your family in the future,” said Bozeman.

Bozeman trained his son Blake at Morgan State University, and said Blake began to follow his steps briefly training at high school. After his retirement, Blake began to make plans to resume the sport in the days before his murder.

“That was the last thing he did outside … before the night,” said Bozeman. “He was in a basketball training, and when he returned, he spoke of the joy that caused him to be in that training. And he said he had a plan.”

“We didn’t know that this would be the scope of the plan,” he added.

The clinic will take place at the Bishop McNamara high school from 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday, September 14. It will feature the participation of professional and university coaches and casseroles, as well as lessons on video analysis.

“I just try to publicize this part of the industry as many people as possible,” said Bozeman. “Life lessons can be taught through basketball, which is what I have done throughout my career.”

Bozeman said he wants to continue honoring his deceased son and paid to the community.

“The Foundation is giving us the opportunity to try to do what we can to turn the tragedy into a purpose,” he said.
