The Ministry of Tourism and Sports (Mints) announced a public invitation to express interest in co -financing international sports competitions in 2026, and the total value of a public call amounts to € 4,579,513.00according to the planned in the state budget, Mints said.
– In the mandate of this Government, we have supported about 200 international sports competitions worth almost 62 million euros so far, which sufficiently tells us how important this segment is to us, both for the development of sports and to promote our country. In the next year, besides the planned funds for this public invitation, they are already planned in the state budget for a number of other major competitions that await us in the 2026 year, from the World Cup in Rena via Cro Race and the World Cup with obstacles, to the sports games of young people and the European Gymnastics Championships, and a total of 12 million euros. This continues to position Croatia as a destination for the world’s largest sports competitions and develop it as a country of sports and sports tourism – said the Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavinapointing out that there are a number of competitions co -financed by the Government this year.
– In the next two months, we are waiting for the World Cups and Races with obstacles, European Championships in Relief and Table Tennis and Cro Race, and these are events that have not only their sports, but also of exceptional tourist value, especially because they are taking place in postponement, which is very much contributing to our important strategic goal, developing our entire tourism – tourism – Glavina concluded.
