The former Blues attacker Wissam Ben Yedder, who had tried to rebound in Iran after his conviction for sexual assault last year in France, was committed this Monday with a Turkish second division club.
“Our club has reached an agreement with Wissam Ben Yedder. We wish him a lot of success under our green and black jersey, ”said Sakaryaspor, current 15th in the Turkish second division, without specifying the amount or the duration of the contract.

The 35 -year -old, who remained without a club after his departure from AS Monaco in May 2024, signed in early April at the Sépahan SC, in Iran. Accused of sexual assault, Wissam Ben Yedder was sentenced to two years in prison suspended in November 2024 by the Nice Criminal Court, a sentence he appealed.
The player, who had been selected 19 times and had scored 3 goals with the French team between 2018 and 2022, was sentenced the week spent by the same court to a fine for psychological violence on his wife, with whom he is pending divorce.
The Nice prosecutor’s office had also announced in May to have requested a rape trial against the former attacker of AS Monaco, Seville FC and Toulouse FC for separate accusations dating back to 2023.
