–Looking back on the Toyo War, what kind of performance and challenges did you feel as a team as a whole?
The response was that they were able to defend well even when the opponent was in a flow. The fact that we were able to concede the goals in the 60s throughout the game will give us confidence in the upcoming league matches. The challenge is that they have lost sight of the shape of their offense. The five people on the court, the bench and the coaches didn’t agree on the same idea, making the offense heavy.
–In the fourth quarter, he scored three points and made a fist pose. How would you look back on your own play?
Originally, our offense would have involved more goals, making it more difficult for the opponent to defend, so if we had taken what was decided in that situation positively and not only scored goals from earlier scenes, but also involved the goals through passing and off-ball movements, I think it would have been a different turn of events.
–This season is the last league match I will be taking on as a student. Looking back at the past, is there anything you are aware of in this last league match?
Now that I’m in my fourth year, I’ve realized once again that the fact that I was able to play to the fullest extent of the fourth year and the year before, the size of the fourth year is more important than I felt at the time. Just like I did back then, I am conscious of making sure my juniors play to the fullest.
–Please be enthusiastic about the next battle for the Kamitake Taisen.
The next match at Jobu University, we have strong international students and abilities, and we hope to keep the goals conceded with our own confident defense, and return to our own form and play hard. And I would like to make this loss a valuable experience and win with the team.
–Finally, please give us a message to all Hosei University fans.
Thank you for your continued support. We lost this time, but this loss will definitely make the team better and stronger. We will win the remaining 20 games and the relegation match, achieving our team’s goals for partial promotion and participation in the Intercollegiate Championships, so please continue to support us in the future.
“To ensure that juniors play hard,” we will continue to look after Sakamoto, who leads the team as the highest grade.
