The Navy reported this Sunday about the submission to the justice of an alleged member of the dissent “Jaime Martínez” and the seizure of an illegal deposit with war material during two military operations developed in the corregimiento of the Bajo Calima, rural area of the district of Buenaventura, in the Valle del Cauca.
The first operational result was recorded when a 24 -year -old person, known with the alias of “Mariana González”, voluntarily appeared before the marine infantry troops deployed in the area.
The woman expressed to the military her intention to abandon the criminal organization, in which she would take about two years, to benefit from the route of submission to the justice offered by the National Government.
According to military sources, it is presumed that Alias ”Mariana González” would have participated in the terrorist attack perpetrated against the troops on August 29, in which a professional infant died.
After delivery, military personnel gave him medical attention and transferred it to the Navy facilities, where contact with the humanitarian care group (GAHD) was established to initiate their process of reintegration into civil life.
In a second procedure, members of the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 21 located an illegal deposit during registration and control tasks in the same low calim sector.
Inside the hiding place the troops found two rifles, eight suppliers and 202 5.56 millimeter caliber cartridges. The authorities pointed out that, apparently, this war material would be used to execute attacks against public force and the civilian population in this Colombian Pacific region.
The seized armament was made available to the competent authorities to initiate the corresponding judicialization processes.
