In the eleven, the last matchday of the Regular Season on the weekend is pending – and Week 14 promises high voltage!
The first four teams are about the seeds in the playoffs, the four teams behind it are still fighting to move into the postseason.
The eleven playoffs go over three rounds: Wild Card, Semifinal and Championship Game. The best teams (Seed #1 and #2) attract directly into the semi -final, the teams #3 to #6 meet in the Wild Card Round.
- Saturday, August 16, 5:50 pm: Paris Musketers at Vienna Vikings – Live on Joyn, ran.de and in the RAN app
- Sunday, August 17, 12:45 p.m.: Madrid Bravos at Frankfurt Galaxy – Live on ProSieben Maxx, Joyn, Ran.de and in the RAN app
- Sunday, August 17, 4:15 p.m.: Nordic Storm at Rhein Fire – Live on ProSieben Maxx, Joyn, ran.de and in the RAN app
The eleven has four divisions – North, East, South and West. The division champions receive the seeds #1 to #4 in the Playoff Picture. The following points decide on the ranking of the four division winners:
- 1. Number of victories
- 2. Direct comparison
- 3. Strength of Victory (SoV*)
- 4. Strength of Schedule (SoS**)
- 5. Point difference in direct comparison
- 6. Away points in direct comparison
- 7. Total point difference
- 8. Total number of points
- 9. Away points in total
- 10. Coverness by the commissioner or a person named by him
*“Strength of Victory”: says how strong the defeated opponents of a team were. The SOV is calculated from the victory rate of the teams beaten. The better the defeated teams are, the higher the sov.
**“Strength of schedule”: says how strong all opponents were against which a team played in the season. The victory rate of all opposing teams is calculated.
In Week 14, the game of the Paris Musketers is important at the Vienna Vikings on Saturday (5:50 p.m. live on joyn, ran.de and in the RAN app).
With a victory in Vienna, the French could ensure high tension in the other games.
The winner of the game between the Madrid Bravos and Frankfurt Galaxy (Sun., 12:45 p.m. Live on ProSieben Maxx, Joyn, Ran.de and in the RAN-app) would maintain his playoff chances in this case, but would have to look at the decisive game between Nordic Storm and Rhein Fire (Sun., 4:15 p.m. Live on ProSieben Maxx, Joyn, Ran.de and Ran-app).
Both Nordic and Rhein Fire would probably go full throttle – after all, Nordic Storm around the Bye Week and for Rhein Fire are around the playoffs.

#1 Vienna Vikings (10-1, SOV 0,436)
Next game: vs. Paris Musketers
- Bye safely at: victory or defeat by Munich Ravens or Nordic Storm
- No bye at: Defeat and victories by Munich Ravens and Nordic Storm
The Vikings have long since won the East Division. Even in the event of a defeat, a slip of Munich or Nordic Storm would be enough with its strong SOV to stay on one of the two best places. But the Vikings certainly want to have their fate in their own hands and will go into the game against the Musketers with full throttle.
#2 Munich Ravens (10-1, SOV 0,400)
Next game: at Wroclaw Panthers
- Bye safely at: victory or defeat of Nordic Storm
- No bye at: defeat and victory of Nordic Storm
The South winners have the lightest opponent of the three division champs and are currently in second place due to their SOV-so they have their fate in their own hands.
Should Munich surprisingly lose against Wroclaw (for which nothing is actually about), Bayern on Sunday must hope that Nordic Storm also stumbles against Rhein Fire. Otherwise, the Ravens go into the Wild Card Round.
#3 Nordic Storm (10-1, SOV 0,300)
Next game: at Rhein Fire
- Bye safely at: victory and defeat of Vienna Vikings or Munich Ravens
- No bye at: Defeat or victory of Vienna Vikings and Munich Ravens
Nordic has the North title safe, but too weak SOV with the same balance as Vienna and Munich. Nordic will watch exactly on Saturday whether one of the two top seeds will fail. If not, Nordic Storm is no longer about anything on the last matchday.
Nerd-Info: If all three favorites (Vienna, Munich, Stuttgart) win on Saturday, it is already clear on Saturday evening that Nordic Storm will meet Rhein Fire in Wild Card Round just like in week 14.
#4 Stuttgart Surge (9-2, SOV 0,343)
Next game: At Färenervar Entroners
Stuttgart has already won the West Division, but can no longer reach the bye Week mathematically. The distance in SOV to the Vikings and Ravens is too big to catch up on the last matchday.
Stuttgart should easily win against Fehervar on Saturday and could still advance to 3rd place on Sunday by defeating Nordic Storm.
The fight for the Wild Card Round:
#5 Rhein Fire (7-4, SOV 0,416)
Next game: vs. Nordic Storm
- Playoffs Safe at: victory or defeat of Paris Musketers
- No playoffs at: Defeat and victory of Paris Musketers
For Rhein Fire, only one game is relevant this week: the game of the Paris Musketers against the Vienna Vikings. If the Musketers lose, Rhein Fire is safe in the playoffs, since even with a defeat only one team – the winner of the Duel Frankfurt vs. Madrid – could pass you.
However, if Paris won against the Vikings, it will be twice interesting: Rhein Fire will definitely need a victory to reach the playoffs. But the opponent Nordic Storm would also go full throttle, as they could still pass the Vikings and get a bye Week.
On Saturday evening it is already clear whether there is still something in the last Fire home game of the season, or whether the duel with Nordic Storm may become a show run if both teams can no longer improve their starting position.
#6 Paris Musketeers (7-4, SOV 0,286)
Next game: at Vienna Vikings
- Playoffs Safe at: Sieg
- No playoffs: defeat
Paris has the simplest scenario of last week: the Musketers have everything on their own, but they also have no support. A victory in Vienna, depending on the result of Rhein Fire, takes #5 (if Fire loses) or #6 (if Fire wins).
A defeat eliminates Paris immediately: Rhein Fire remained in front of the Musketers due to the better SOV and the winner of the direct duel between Madrid (then would have the better balance) and Frankfurt (then would have the better SOV).
#7 Madrid Bravos (7-4, SOV 0.143)
Next game: at Frankfurt Galaxy
- Playoffs Safe at: victory and defeat of Paris Musketers or Rhein Fire
- No playoffs at: Defeat or victory of Paris Musketers and Rhein Fire
Madrid, to reach the playoffs, have to win themselves and hope for a slip from Paris or Rhine Fire.
#8 Frankfurt Galaxy (6-5, SOV 0,455)
Next game: vs. Madrid Bravos
- Playoffs Safe at: victory and defeat of Paris Musketers or Rhein Fire
- No playoffs at: Defeat or victory of Paris Musketers and Rhein Fire
Galaxy is in exactly the same situation as Madrid: a victory is only enough if one of the teams that are currently on the wild card places stumbles.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the ELF Playoffs
General Playoff Questions
Here are answers to common questions about the ELF playoffs, providing clarity on key aspects of the postseason.
How many teams qualify for the ELF playoffs?
Six teams advance to the ELF playoffs. The top two teams from each of the three divisions (East, West, and South) qualify for the playoffs. The top two division winners get a bye week.
What is a Bye Week?
A bye week in the ELF playoffs grants the top two teams, steadfast by their record (and tiebreakers), a bye in the first round. This means they automatically advance to the Semi-Finals, giving them an extra week to rest and prepare for their next game.
How are tiebreakers determined in the ELF?
Tiebreakers are critical for determining playoff spots and seeding. The ELF uses the following tiebreaker criteria, in order:
- Direct comparison (head-to-head record).

What is the importance of SOV and SOS?
SOV (Strength of Victory) measures the combined win percentage of teams a team has defeated. A higher SOV indicates wins against strong opponents, perhaps boosting a team’s playoff chances. SOS (Strength of Schedule) assesses the combined win percentage of all opponents a team has played throughout the season. These metrics play a significant role in tiebreaking scenarios. Using them help provide a complete picture of a team’s performance and the overall strength of their schedule while providing additional data points for determining playoff seeding.
What is the Wild Card round?
