Carson Wentz is back in the National Football League and Sam Howell must again carry his suitcases.
The Vikings of Minnesota had a contract signed in Wentz to camp the role of reservist at the quarter-Arrière JJ McCarthy and exchanged Howell to the Eagles of Philadelphia.
The Eagles, defending champions of the Super Bowl, will give up choices to the draft, including a selection of fifth round in 2026.
Wentz, who spent last season in the role of reservist to Patrick Mahomes with the Chiefs of Kansas City, had been the second choice of the 2016 draft, by the Eagles. The following season, he finished third in the ballot for the most useful player in his team.
However, he was the victim of a tear of a previous cross ligament in December and had to be satisfied with the role of spectator when Nick Foles guided the Eagles to their first conquest of the Super Bowl.
Wentz was a quarter starting with the Indianapolis colts in 2021 and with the Washington commanders in 2022. In 2023, he held the reservist position with the Los Angeles Rams.

McCarthy was chosen at 10e Rank during the 2024 draft but did not play during what would have been his recruited season due to a knee injury. Sam Darnold led the Vikings to a 14-3 file.
Wentz posted a career file of 47-46-1 as a starter. He completed 62.7 % of his passes for gains of 22,410 yards. He launched 153 Touché passes and was the victim of 67 interceptions.
