Serbian national basketball player Philip Petrushev has been fined 5,000 euros after the European Championship game against Portugal, but he has avoided disqualification and will be able to go against Latvia, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) said.

Petrushev was expelled from the game yesterday against the Portuguese in the fifth minute of the match. Portuguese basketball player Djoga in the British battle for a rebound ball with a rather aggressive maneuver tried to unlock Petrushev, who in turn responded with a rough shot.

FIBA has also stated that Petrushev has a three -year probation period. This means that if during this time, the Serb will again be disqualified by one match.

Serbia yesterday won their second win in the European Championship final, beating Portugal in a Group A match with 80:69. Today Serbs at 18:00 will meet with Latvia.
