Fiarc Championships: Italy’s Coastal Archers Win

From 25 to 31 August, the Pollino Park hosted the Italian Fiarc championships of shooting in the countryside, which saw the participation of hundreds of archers from all over Italy. Among the undisputed protagonists of the event, the Compagnia degli Arcieri del Mare di Chioggia has once again confirmed its value with eight athletes competing on four outdoor routes: route, route, 3D and joke.

The spearhead of the Chioggiotta expedition was the very young Tommaso Nordio, 11 years old, who conquered the national title in the puppies category, a curved arch specialties. Surprisingly, his brother Simone, just 7 years old, made his debut with an excellent second place, making the race an exciting “derby in the family” who made his parents proud Marco Nordio and Anna Maria Bagolin, also in the race as accompanying archers.

Among the adults, great satisfaction for Andrea Doria, gold in the historical arch, while Mario Taufer – several times national champion – closed in second place in the curved arch, passed by the Tuscan Fedele Soria. In the women’s field, an excellent test of Maria Rosa Doria, silver in the curved arch, while Lorenzo Chieregato missed the podium with a fourth place thick.

Another important recognition arrived in the Cup of the Regions, where the Triveneto team 1 – composed of Andrea Doria, Mario Taufer and the South Tyrolean Stefan Mahlknecht – brought home a well -deserved bronze medal, keeping the Northeast flag high.

The overall balance is more than positive for the Compagnia degli Arcieri del Mare, which is confirmed as a solid and winning reality on the national scene. A close -knit group that combines talent, passion and team spirit, already projected towards the next challenges, both nationally and internationally.
