Badminton Fever Hits Gleisdorf: Camps Draw Players of All Levels
Gleisdorf, Austria – Badminton enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels recently converged in Gleisdorf for a series of intensive badminton camps. From seasoned veterans to eager beginners, teh camps offered a unique possibility for players to hone their skills and share their passion for the sport.

Comprehensive Training for Every Player
The badminton camps, held in the sports hall of the Gleisdorf middle school, provided a structured training environment for participants. Supported by ASVÖ Styria, Raiffeisenbank Gleisdorf, and the local municipality, the camps emphasized comprehensive skill advancement. participants engaged in six hours of daily training, punctuated by crucial regeneration days to prevent burnout – a strategy familiar to athletes across disciplines, from NFL players managing grueling seasons to marathon runners pacing their training.
The coaching staff, led by former Austrian and German national coach Hans Werner Niesner, included Robin Niesner, Ronny Thiesies, Christian Mahr, and Brigitta Mahr. This experienced team catered to a diverse range of players,ensuring that everyone,from top players like Martina Nöst to complete novices,received optimal instruction. The goal was to create an inclusive environment where everyone could improve, regardless of their starting point,

Two Groups, One Goal: Badminton Excellence
The camps were divided into two distinct training groups. The first group comprised 17 young adults and adults, while the second group consisted of 18 students, supplemented by occasional adult sparring partners. This structure allowed for targeted training, addressing the specific needs and skill levels of each group.The student performance group also benefited from the expertise of Melanie Bschaiden and Martina Nöst, who served as trainers and sparring partners, providing invaluable guidance and competition.

Participants lauded the targeted training approach, which catered to individual performance levels. The student performance group is notably well-positioned to excel in the upcoming 2025/26 season.
