After going through a hollow period in recent years, the Netherlands female selection intends to reconnect with the summits this summer. The Dutch people launch their women’s football euro this Saturday, July 5, in Lucerne, opposite Wales. European champions in 2017, the teammates of Jackie Groenen, the tireless midfielder in Paris Saint-Germain, want to hit the group D hard, to put pressure on their future opponents.
The match will indeed be scrutinized closely by England, title holder, and France, the other two teams in the group. The blue of Laurent Bonadei, who have not faced the Oranje for over three years, will want to take as much information as possible before meeting them on July 13, in what will be the last match of their group phase … and may well have the appearance of sixteenth finals.
