The city of Toledo is in luck, since, in the next few days, the Spanish Basketball Federation will confirm the presence of the Toledo Basketball Club in the Second FEB category, just two steps of the ACB League, the best European Basketball League. A news that also produces the same year as the regional capital is the European sport city.
This new project, in which it has worked at absolute discretion for months, is born from the hand of a series of entrepreneurs that aim to bring the team to the top, representing the city of Toledo for some of the most important cities and pavilions in our country.
Being a newly created club, to obtain sports rights and be able to compete in Second Feb, an economic agreement has been reached with the Valencian team of the Horta Godella, staying the Toledo with their place in the category. The creation of the club and the purchase of the square has been thanks to the entrepreneurs who captain the project, which will be led by Víctor del Rio as president and general manager of the club, accompanied by a directive formed by Luis Antonio Medina or Tomás Sierra among other managers.
One of the great novelties that entails the appearance of the Toledo Basketball Club will be its game court, since the Javier Lozano Cid municipal pavilion will host and witness for the first time of basketball matches of the highest level. The installation, which is the one that can house the greatest public influx of the city, today does not meet all the necessary infrastructure that the Spanish basketball federation obliges to participate in the category, a situation that the City Council together with the club are working so that everything is ready so that September 1 begins the preseason of the team with everything necessary.
In the words of Víctor del Río, we are facing “a project that will revolutionize and energize not only the sport, but the entire city. Returns professional sports in Toledo a decade later, and also that for the first time it is basketball, it will be something spectacular. In addition, we want the games to be a unique experience in terms of environment and visual teams.”
Regarding the rest of the city’s clubs, Del Río has commented that “what we want is that the Toledo Basketball Club is the spearhead of all those clubs and that all children of all schools look at the club as a place to be able to get to be professional after their training stage.
In addition, as the agendas and festive dates allow us, we want to gather from the hand of the City Council with all the clubs, to explain the project and make them reach that there is room for everyone here and we are looking forward to each club, coach and player to put their grain of sand to the project. “
Regarding the preparation of the squad, the club has been working for weeks and already has closed the figure of the coach, as well as that of several players, which will be presented in the next few days through the press and social networks of the club. Precisely this aspect, that of social networks, is one of the departments that the club wants to enhance more, looking for a daily interaction with its followers. All those who want to know the day to day of the Toledo Basketball Club, can follow their Instagram profiles (@Bysting_Toledo) or on Facebook (Facebook.com/Bystoteledo).
Throughout the next few weeks it will be informed by the club of all the news that appears, and it will be in the month of September, prior to the start of the preseason, when an inaugural presentation and press conference will be held by the representatives of the club, as well as a ‘medium day’ of the players and coaching staff with the press.
