We know the name of the one who will arbitrate the duel at the top between PSG and Bayern Munich, this Saturday, July 5 (6 p.m.) in Atlanta, in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. FIFA, the world football body, announced this Friday that this responsibility would return to English Anthony Taylor.
At 46, the Native of Manchester is an experienced referee, accustomed to high -level matches with more than 400 Premier League games to his credit (402 meetings exactly). He also led an UEFA Super Cup in 2020 and the final of the League of Nations in 2021 between Spain and France. The French then imposed themselves 2-1.
The Englishman refereed 38 Champions League League games during his career including 8 times with PSG. The results are rather favorable for Parisians since they have won five times.

But the last two times that the roads have crossed between Taylor and PSG, this ended in the backs of the capital’s club. Each time during the 2023-2024 season. Against Barça in the quarter-final first leg (2-3 defeat at the Parc des Princes) then against Dortmund, in the semi-final first (1-0).
Note also that Taylor was at the whistle during the Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland on June 12, 2021 and marked by the heart unwell of the Danish Christian Eriksen.
