“Schuster, stay with your strips” is an old saying. At the Swiss running shoe manufacturer On, the cobblers now have to look for others. In the future, a light spray shoe is to be built there at the new production site in Zurich, which will be fully automatically manufactured by a robot. “Around 300 employees usually work on a conventional shoe,” said Caspar Coppetti, co -founder of On, at the opening ceremony on Wednesday evening. In the case of light spray technology, this work takes over a single robot. “And the shoe is ready in three minutes.”
