-I have apologized (the team), says the expelled Colin Rösler after the 1-1 match.
Malmö’s center back Colin Rösler made his first return to Strandvallen since last summer’s move from Mjällby.
– I had a good time here, so it was fun to be back.
The ambition was to travel home with three points, but it was not as Rösler imagined. Mjällby acknowledged Malmö’s management and in the final stage the MFF player was awarded a red shortly after a situation with Alexander Johansson, former teammate in Mjällby.
– It’s stupid of me, I shouldn’t react and give the judge an opportunity there. I have apologized for putting the team in a stupid situation, says Rösler.
An MFF loss in it Allsvenska restart had meant that the gold favorite from Skåne had been all eleven points behind Mjällby. Despite this pressed location, Malmö initially looked comfortable on Strandvallen’s green and even lawn. Already in the ninth minute, Taha Ali fine -tuned for a good shot position and placed safely 1-0.
-I got one against one position on the edge, folded in and it sat nicely in the far, says Ali about its goal.
The guests lacked some leading players, but showed what a wide top you have in the squad. Early goalkeeper Ali was in a brilliant gaming mood and involved in most of Malmö’s spike offensive before the break in front of 5,969 spectators on the crowded beach.
– A very good match plan where we push them high and get good bites in the press. A little more sharpness we had 2-0. But you also have to pay tribute to the goalkeeper (Mjällby’s Noel Törnqvist) because he makes a fantastic match, he makes some incredible rescues, says Taha Ali.
In the 73: e minute Took Mjällby’s Elliot Stroud to be on the opportunity that Noel Törnqvist’s big game gave his team. Stroud’s receipt goal means the status Quo in the table – Mjällby at the top with eight points lead to the reigning champion Malmö in fifth place.
– We needed the victory to clog that gap. Based on the conditions, if I ignore the disappointment that we do not win, I am satisfied with how we take on the match, says Malmö coach Henrik Rydström a few minutes after the final signal, after being served coffee by coach colleague Anders Torstensson in Mjällby.
– I think we had enough ball winnings on their half and created positions to score two goals, Rydström continues.
