Lanzarote: New Badminton Facilities Boost Sports City

  • The Lanzarote council, through the sports and physical activity area, has brought out the supply and installation of seven Badminton post games and their corresponding networks, with the Objective of improving the facilities of the Lanzarote Sports Citywith an estimated budget of more than 17,000 euros.

    The vice president and counselor of the Project Planning and Coordination Area, Maria Jesús Tovar, underlines the commitment of the Government Group to Sports, “providing the sports city for the necessary resources to offer a quality service to athletes and citizenship,” he says.

    The advisor of Physical Activity and Sports AreaJuan Monzón, emphasizes that the incorporation of this new equipment will allow “adapting our facilities to the level required by official competitions.” In addition, he points out that “we bet on offering users a modern infrastructure and in optimal conditions.”

    During the award process, criteria such as the extension of the guarantee period and the availability of technical service on the island will be taken into account to guarantee effective material maintenance.

    The contract is Financed with own resources of the Cabildo and with funds from the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), and companies have the deadline until July 3 to submit proposals. Once awarded, the company will have a maximum period of three months to complete the delivery and installation of the material.
