Oude Pekela-The King’s visit to Oude Pekela was closed in the multifunctional center De Binding, the beating heart of socio-cultural life in Oude Pekela. A vibrant program took place here at that time with various sports activities such as Kabouterjudo, Volleyball, Korfball and Badminton.

The king made a tour of the sporting children and spoke with enthusiastic volunteers about their commitment to club life. Their stories about togetherness, perseverance and involvement in the community were an appropriate final agreement of an inspiring afternoon.

The presence of the king was experienced by residents of Oude Pekela as an honor and a token of appreciation for everything that lives and blooms in the village. The visit underlined the power of cooperation, local involvement and sustainable entrepreneurship. For many it wasn’t just a special moment.

The king left around 6 pm, but before departure a group photo was taken, selfies were made and hands were shaken. This closed the visit. While waving, the king left and for many it could start afterwards.
