Bosz & Pot Win Rinus Michels Awards – Football News

Guus Hiddink hands Peter Bosz the Rinus Michels Award

NOS Football•

PSV coach Peter Bosz has been voted the best football coach in the Netherlands for the third time in his career. Joran Pot, who led FC Twente to the national title last season, won the Rinus Michels Award last season.

Bosz matches his third Rinus Michels Award Erik ten Hag. The other nominees were this year Paul Simonis (Go Ahead Eagles), Francesco Farioli (Ajax) and Ron Jans (FC Utrecht)

For Pot it was the first time that he was chosen as the best coach of the year. Rick Kruys was voted best trainer of the first division. He crowned himself champion with FC Volendam.

Bosz grabbed the national title with PSV this season for the second time in a row. Last year and after the 2016/2017 season he was also elected as the best of the year as a Ajax trainer.

Simonis favorite

Simonis seemed a favorite in advance to win the Rinus Michels Award. With Go Ahead Eagles he won the KNVB Cup, which earned him a switch to the German VFL Wolfsburg.

Bosz said when he received the award of Guus Hiddink that he had expected Simonis to win. Simonis himself admitted that he had counted on that a bit.
