Badminton: New Horizons Junior Tournament – Dominican Republic

The president of the Dominican Badminton Federation, Nelson Javier Ozuna, headed the beginning of the New Horizons Junior International Bádminton tournament. In the frame, Javier Ozuna, among other Bedobad leaders, delivered a recognition plaque to the executive director of the Collegiate Center, Frantly Garrido.

The New Diario, Santo Domingo.- With great enthusiasm, the Dominican Federation of Bádminton (Fedobad) on Wednesday began the New Horizons International Junior Tournament of that discipline that will take place until this Saturday 5 in that educational center with the participation of five countries and the Dominican Republic.

The president of the Fedobad, Nelson Javier Ozuna, accompanied by several technicians and managers of that bilingual educational center, began the contest in which Badmintonistas of the U11 and U19 categories of the United States, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Peru and the Dominican hosts participate.

Accompanied by the director and coordinator of the New Horizons Bilingual College, Fauntly Garrido and Francisco Roussell, respectively, Javier Ozuna reiterated his thanks to the managers of that educational center so that the tournament can be carried out in its facilities.

He stressed that the tournament aims to develop the Bádminton and prepare the athletes that will act in the next international commitments, between them a youth tournament and the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

“Thanks to the New Horizons for the opportunity that has provided the Dominican Bádminton in competitive and development aspects, as well as the support of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (Miderec) and the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI),” he said.
