Venturelli School Football: Students Win 3rd Place

The participation of the students of the first classes of the first degree secondary school “Venturelli” in Gussago in the provincial competition of Flag Football ended with a brilliant third place. A significant result for young athletes, who have distinguished themselves in a sporting discipline still little known but growing.

The team was made up of: Baronio Carolina, Castagna Giorgia, Morelli Lucrezia, Faini Rosa, Marchina Irene, Venturelli Davide, Cabras Matteo, Crovato Tommaso, Andreis Federico and Arici Simone.

The Football flag is a variant of American football that does not include physical contacts among the players. Each participant wears a belt with flags, the “flags”: to stop the ball carrier, it is sufficient to detach one. This feature makes the game safer and more suitable for boys and girls at the first sports experiences.

The goal of the game is to advance with the ball through a series of offensive actions until you reach the opponent’s Meta (Endzone) area. Each team has four attempts (Down) to earn at least ten yard or make a touchdown; Otherwise, possession passes to the opponents.

The good placement obtained by Venturelli’s students testifies to the commitment and preparation of the group, in addition to the educational value of sport in the school. An experience that, in addition to the result, represented a moment of growth and sharing for all participants.
