Trey McBride, is participating this week at the Tight End University summit, an event bringing together the best players at his NFL post. The cardinal player was able to interact with other Tight Ends, and the latter said that his discussion with Travis Kelce, star of the Chiefs, had particularly marked him.
Kyler Murray-McBride, the new Patrick Mahomes-Kelce?
In an interview with ESPNMcBride explained that Kelce had mentioned his unique link with his chiefing quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and how a Tight End can become the best ally of his quarterback.
McBride thinks he can build a similar relationship with Kyler Murray, the Cardinals quarterback.
“Travis has shared some advice on the art of getting essential for his quarterback. He insists on the importance of always being on the same wavelength with him. He plays with a certain freedom, and his complicity with Mahomes is impressive. I said to myself: ‘Why Kyler and I couldn’t have this same connection?’ This is what I try to build with him: a relationship of trust, to be this reliable player towards whom he can always launch the ball when he needs a solution. »»
The TIGH End comes out of an excellent season, with 111 receptions, 1,146 yards and 2 touchdowns. An exercise also marked by his first selection in Pro Bowl, which was rewarded by a four -year contract extension for $ 76 million.
The cardinals are betting on a lasting duo between Murray and McBride, and the latter is convinced that they can form one of the best quarterback – Tight End pairs of the NFL.
