Portuguese star will stay at Al-Nassr two more years and at age 40, signed one of the most lucrative contracts in sports history. About 94 thousand euros per goal is the most modest value of the new CR7 contract.
Two more years of contract, many millions guaranteed and perks little viewed in a contract of a footballer. Against all expectations, Cristiano Ronaldo will continue at Al-Nassr and maintains the goal of reaching a thousand goals and doing so in Saudi Arabia, the league that received him in 2023.
For now, all that is known is that the contract with Al-Nassr is until 2027 and that the new bond is expected to yield, according to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, 180 to 200 million euros per season only in salaries, image rights and marketing.
Faced with the nebula around the new contract, the British press has already advanced with some numbers that, according to the analysis of newspapers such as “The Sun”, can make this bond one of the most profitable in sports history: 3.9 million euros per week and 208 million euros per season.
But the British are not here: as it had been advanced, Cristiano Ronaldo should have a percentage of 15% of Al-Nassr, valued at 38.6 million euros and a signing award of 28.6 million euros that could rise to 44.4 million euros if the Portuguese activates the second year of the contract.
On the field, Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to fit a lot of money with goals and assists. Each time you swing the contrary networks, the Portuguese star’s bank account will receive a notification that there are another 94,000 euros in the balance (funds that will suffer an increase of 20% in the second year). What if I assist? Another 49 thousand euros of bonus (with a 20% rise in the second year).
And if goals and assists are synonymous with petrodollar, what about the collective achievements? More than nine million euros for winning the title of Saudi Pro League champion; 4.6 million euros if it is the best scorer of the race and another 7.6 million euros of bonus if Al-Nassr qualifies and wins the Asian Champions League.
The British say that Cristiano Ronaldo’s new contract will also imply hiring sixteen (read well) employees who will work in full-time and exclusivity regime for the Portuguese star: three drivers, four maids, two chefs, three gardens and four security guards. About 4.6 million euros in private jet expenses will also be covered by Al-Nassr.
Finally, but no less significant, Al-Nassr will have promised Cristiano Ronaldo a value of 70.2 million euros in sponsorships from Saudi companies and trademarks of the Asian market.
“A new chapter begins”
Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at the service of Al Nassr, having signed a contract for two more seasons, until 2027, announced last week the Saudi Football Club and the striker.
“A new chapter begins. The same passion, the same dream. Let’s make history together,” wrote the national team captain in a social media publication, accompanied by a photograph of his alongside the club president.
Cristiano Ronaldo, 40, arrived at Al-Nassr in January 2023, after leaving Manchester United in conflict with coach Erik Ten Hag, and in the Saudi club he added 111 games and scored 99 goals.
Despite the individual performance, Ronaldo has not yet won any official trophy by the Riade emblem, which, during this period, was twice in the second position of the Saudi League and last season, was third, 13 points by champion Al Ittihad.
