Elderly mistreatment
The carabinieri of the Tenenza di San Cataldo performed an order from the investigating judge of Caltanissetta with whom a person was arrested and conducted in prison and two others were placed under house arrest.
The measure was triggered as part of an investigation by the Pool of gender and domestic violence of the Nissian prosecutor on the management of a socio-assistance structure for the elderly. Very serious conduct of mistreatment, seizures in person towards guests and abusive exercise of the profession would emerge.
Environmental interceptions and video processes would have shed light on harassing, humiliating and mistreating behaviors by the administrator of the structure and two collaborators.
In some circumstances, the most fragile guests would have been immobilized to the beds with means of containment, tied with straps or with adhesive tape to the wheelchairs in order not to make them move. The management of the structure, which was seized, was entrusted to a judicial administrator.
