Maskinongé Athletes Honored: 23 Young Stars Rewarded

Holidays. The Claude-Mongrain Foundation has given 23 scholarships of $ 600 to the next generation athletes from Mauricie and Center-du-Québec, during a ceremony held on June 13 at the Moulin Golf Club in Trois-Rivières.

In total, 23 young sportsmen and sportsmen were awarded a training scholarship, offered by the Claude-Mongrain Foundation, in recognition of their performances in the past year in their respective discipline. These scholarships were delivered thanks to the contribution of Foundation’s financial partners. “La Relaim Sportive, I believe it!” Reaffirmed the Foundation, which has been given it since 1994. To date, more than $ 375,000 have been distributed to promising athletes with the aim of supporting their development towards excellence.

Laurence Bélanger (Athletics), Flavie Laperrière (swimming), Justin Miron (Judo), Justine Ricard (Baseball), Édouard Arvisais (Badminton), Charlie Rompré (Baseball), Henri-Médéric Bessette (Baseball), Sinai Paquet (Baseball), Yanik Gravel (Kayak of speed), Abby Lavoie (Judo) Thibault (Judo), Léanne Beaudet (Volleyball), Émy-Jade Tremblay (figure skating), Jérôme Blanchette (table tennis), Emma Fortin (Badminton), Florence Martel (Ice Hockey), Victor Rodrigue (Football), Gabrielle Leblanc (Trampoline), Alexanne Patry (Alpine ski), Zoey Paquin (Triathlon and Trampoline), Zachary Bolduc (Cross-Country), Jérémy Pelletier (speed kayak) and Mégane Morin (figure skating).

The Foundation also awarded the Normandin team sports scholarship to the male U-15 Softball of the Softball of the Express in Saint-Léonard-d’Aston, led by Lysanne Désilets.

A special scholarship has been awarded to Joseph Bernard de Saint-Léonard-d’Aston, who will take part in the international competition United World Games, from June 20 to 22 in Klagenfurt, in Austria.

The Foundation’s benefit golf tournament, which was held in the afternoon in the same place, brought together 148 golfers from the region and Center-du-Québec. All departures have been filled for this 30th edition. President Louis Beaudet said he was “very proud of the results announced by the two tournament coordinators”, Denis Dupont and Michel Mongrain, who confirmed that “all the places available had found takers for this 30th annual edition”, held under the honorary presidency of Michaël Bellemare, president of the company Bell Horizon.

Finally, for the 35th anniversary of the Foundation in 2026, a committee was trained to offer celebration activities. This committee is made up of Pierrette Jacob, Nancy Aubry, Marc Michaud and Samuel Robert. (F.D.)
