BC Portland Youth Badminton Season Ends – Albrandswaards Dagblad

Last Wednesday evening the youth season of Badmintonclub BC Portland ended. Now it was a special ending again and this time something special was arranged for the youth, the club reports.

Group 1 took the exam for their badmintond diploma. In addition, they had to serve twice (short and long), keep a shuttle up and drop and their footwork was looked at by the trainers. All kids succeeded with praise. This evening Aiden Liu got the cup, because he had the best score of the evening! They all received their BC Portland Badminton diploma from head coach Jessy Molier.

The club championship finals were also played by the youth of Group 2 & 3. The group 2 Mix Final were also Kitty Junyue & Bram Locking the Boys & Girls Lock after a nice game against Cem Sezisli & Joep. Result 21 – 15. In group 3, the girls Floor Konijnendijk of Luna Batenburg won in an exciting final, result 21 – 17 With the boys, Ties de Bruijn went. Taken with the championship in the exciting match against Raïez Nabie, result 21 – 7. The group 3 Double final for boys was won by Raïez Nabie & Ryan Shao against Ties de Bruijn & Bart van Loenen, result 21 – 18.

“We had invited two toppers from Drop Shot from The Hague. Namely Lars Kros and David Suguharto, players from the Bekerkkampioen Dropshot. They gave a fantastic clinique / demo competition at BC Portland. The kids were well involved in playing and training. The Signat & Photos were also taken with these.

The evening ended with the ceremony of all talents and champions. The kids all received a nice special memory (clock with the club’s logo) alderman Mario Bianchi could not be present due to political obligations, but Lars Kros and David Suguharto were willing to observe these honors and awarded the prizes. A very nice racket was raffled among the youth members and was won by Sebastian Zwaneveld. There was a nice lottery with many prizes that were also made available by local shopkeepers (AH, Cigo, Fish stall Ons Stekkie and Drankhandel 010) from Portland.

The training staff (Cees van Leeuwen, Rob Richelle, Ties de Bruijn, Megan and Crystal Shao, Raïez Nabie and Marcel de Wijk) was also thanked by Jessie Molier for their efforts this season with a beautiful flowers, a BBQ and an exclusive BC Portland memory cup. The parents of the kids also received a cup for their support to the club, so that new training materials could be purchased, including two badminton cannons.
