Santo Domingo.- The president of the Dominican Federation of Bádminton (Fedobad), Nelson Javier Ozuna, described as historic the realization of the New Horizons International Bádminton tournament that will take place from July 1 to 5 in that educational center with the participation of five countries, including the host, Dominican Republic.
Javier Ozuna went in those terms when he headed the press conference, held at the New Horizons Bilingual College, taking the opportunity to thank the managers of that educational center so that the contest can be carried out in which athletes between the U-11 and Sub-19 categories, in the United States, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Peru and the Dominican Republic can participate.
He stressed that the tournament aims to develop the Bádminton and prepare the athletes that will act in the next international commitments, between them a youth tournament and the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
The Fedobad executive took the opportunity to thank the New Horizons bilingual school for the opportunity that has given the Dominican Bádminton in competitive and development aspects, as well as the support of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (Miderec) and the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI).
On his side, the New Horizons school coordinator, Francisco Russet, stressed that the fair is covered by all the details and trusted the positive impact that this tournament will have at the regional level on the courts of that educational center.
In the meeting with the media were also the referee José Efraín, who offered technical details of the event; Coach Wilton Tavárez, who explained the process of preparation of athletes for the Central American and Caribbean Games, among which he cited Enmanuel Pichardo, Luis Alfredo, Lán Ho and Efraín Fabián.
