Milan: Furlani on Ibrahimović & Allegri Pursuit | Firstpagin

During the media briefing organized by Milan to present the sports director to the press Ili tare And the new sports project took the floor Giorgio Furlani. Il CEO Rossoneri He touched several central points in view of the next season.

“The last time I officially talked to the cameras I said it was time to turn the page, to look to the future, to the next season and to make changes. I said that next week it was that of the announcements. The ads were made, those who were actually our first two purchases of this season. The first of Igli, that of a sports director with a story, with experience. The second purchase was Max Allegri. Coach in activity with multiple trophies in Italian football.
On the objectives:
“Our goal at a sporting level, it is the same as before. We must be competitive and we must aim to win the trophies”.

On Tare and Allegri:
“We changed the setting of the sports area with this new season. We realized that it is important to have a figure like that of Igli. During our period of knowledge we both realized that together we could get results. At the coach level, what we decided is to focus on someone with experience: with a story of victories, with a story in Milan, realizing that Italian football is different and particular”.
On the possible stakes in the engagements of hypothetical important purchases:
“Football is central to the Milan project, it is an obvious thing, because we are a football club with 125 years of glorious history. So sometimes there is this confusion of talking about Milan on economic factors. All the economic resources created are invested in football with the aim of creating a sporty performance. The stakes are there. The goal is to get to the top of the sports performance, therefore, we must decide how to allocate the resources that we generously generously generously generously generates. commercial.
On the numerous rumors circulating on the outlet transfer market:
“Some voices” exits “in these days have a foundation of truth, others are practically invented, I don’t know who and I don’t know how. If there are some interests for our players, it is because it is recognized that they are strong. That last year they have not made it the most of it is true, but we have strong players. For this we do not need a revolution. The fact that there are many interest does not imply that the players are on sale”.

On the new role of Ibrahimovic:
“Zlatan has never been technically in the staff of the company. There has been a confusion about his role. Zlatan has been and remains a very important person in the context of the Milan project. His role is at the level of ownership. If you go to the Redbird website you see Zlatan Ibrahimovic. His input is on the sporting, commercial, representation part. He is a person that we Milanist love us, To win the Scudetto in 2022, after 11 years we did not win.
On the process that led to the choice of Tare:
“The process that led to the choice of Igli was partly documented by you. It was a long process, as it is right that it is in a company when you go to select a person in a fundamental and central role for the future of society. What matters now is that I am banned that we have made the right choice, and that’s what we are seeing during this month”.

On the Maignan case:
“There was an interest from an English company, we were not considered an interesting interest from the club’s point of view. Mike was and is an important player for Milan, and his agent was also very correct. There was openness to this interest, however, at the same time there was an interest on their part, not a forcing or a push, to remain at Milan. Then in the medium-long term future who will live.”
On the renewal of Pulisic:
“Christian still has 3 years of contract with Milan. There is no urgency. From the point of view of society and property is a very important player”.

On the organization of society in times of difficulty:
“From this question it seems almost that a distinction between DS/coach and society is being made. It is a mistake. There is no sporting soul and then everything else. We are one, so in times of difficulty we will be as a company, as management and CEO, close to the sports director and the coach”.

How it came to Allegri’s choice: “What struck me was his knowledge of Milan, the team but also of the club, the knowledge of the Italian championship and the fact that it is objectively the one who won the most in Italy. What is striking about him is enthusiasm, has a great desire to do. The sports director from the beginning said ‘Allegri is the man for Milan'”.

On the role that Moncada will play:
“Geoffrey has been with us at Milan for 7 years more or less. It is a very important resource that has grown over the years. It is and remains the technical director. As he knows the players in France and how he manages to identify the talents around the world, there are few. Or maybe nobody … so he remains in Milan”.
