Teams Receive Regional Treats at Event

AF Aveiro said the event also served to showcase traditional products of the region: every team left with a bottle of sparkling wine offered by Rota da Bairrada and a Pão Doce de Vale de Ílhavo, a traditional sweet bread. The association thanked Rota da Bairrada for its collaboration and all participating teams and district association representatives.

AF Braga, whose clubs compete in Series 2 alongside Viana do Castelo, Porto and Aveiro, framed the opening round as evidence of the modality’s growth and its role in promoting sport, inclusion and active aging among older players. Braga district teams entered the day’s action and collected positive results, the association reported.

Second Round Set for Nov. 21 in Guimarães

The competition moves to Guimarães on Nov. 21, when AF Braga organizes the second jornada at the Pista de Atletismo Gémeos Castro, according to AF Braga. With Zone 2’s first round complete, attention now turns north to see whether the early momentum — Arões SC’s 9-1 demolition and the tight 4-3 and 3-4 results elsewhere — carries into the next stage of the national cup.
