Bozen- There was a heartbeat final at the Italy badminton open in Bolzano: Austria’s top player Kai Niederhuber (Union Neuhofen) lost in the decisive round of qualifications to the Chinese Luca Zhou, which was beating for Italy in three highly competitive sets with 21: 9, 22:24 and 18:21.
After a confident opening set, Niederhuber celebrated a clear 21: 9 victory, but the narrow sentences two and three showed the high level of both players. In the second round, Niederhuber alone missed three sets or match balls: at the stand of 20:18 and again at 21:20, before Zhou was able to win the sentence. The Austrian had to hand in the third set with 18:21, which refused to enter the main competition.

Despite the narrowly missed in the main field, Niederhuber can grow an increase on the world rankings – another step in its international development.
Outlook: Tomorrow, on Friday, his Austrian colleagues start Collins Filimon and Wolfgang Gnedt directly in the main competition. They also hope to continue the Austrian success run in Bolzano.
