José De Cauwer has had to say goodbye to his daughter Debbie (51). She has been fighting cancer for years and has now lost the battle.
In 2016, De Cauwer discovered a lump in her chest on vacation. She had been treatment for years, but at the age of 51 lost the fight against breast cancer.
“After a heavy treatment it went well again, but she is relapsed,” says cycling commentator José De Cauwer Het Nieuwsblad. Debbie was the oldest daughter of De Cauwer.
Debbie De Cauwer, together with professional accordionist Marino ‘Punk’ Bekaert, had four children, he announced the terrible news about the death of wife on Friday evening.
“With immense sadness, I have to bring the miserable news that my beloved lady De Cauwer today died around 12 a.m. in intimate family circle. Rest softly, dearest. Forever in our hearts.”
