Eagle Football Holdings: Lyon Olympic Club Leadership Update – TradingView

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, June 30, 2025 – (Asia Pacific Business News) – Eagle Football Holdings Limited confirmed today that it supports upcoming leadership changes in its subsidiary Eagle Football Group (France) and the Olympic Club in Lyon.

John Textor, chairman and major shareholder of Eagle Football Holdings, appointed Michael Gerlinger as general manager (CEO) today and Michele Kang as chairman and president of the board of directors as his sole director and representative of the Olympic Club in Lyon. Mr Textor has resigned from his leadership position at the Olympic Club in Lyon, giving his position to Ms. Kang and Mr. Gerlinger.

Michele Kang is also a major shareholder of Eagle Football Holdings and has served as a member of the Lyon Olympic Board of Directors since 2023. She is now appointed chairman and president of the board and will actively support the work of the club’s executive team, including leading the club’s process of appealing to the French National Football Financial Regulatory Authority (DNCG).

Michael Gerlinger currently serves as Chief Sports Officer of Eagle Football and is now appointed General Manager of the Olympic Club in Lyon. He is a well-respected person in the management field of European football, with over twenty years of experience in governance, regulatory affairs and sports operations.

Mr Textor will remain Chairman, CEO and Major Shareholder of Eagle Football Holdings (UK) and continue to be the main owner of SAF Bottafogo (Brazil), Lyon Olympic Club (France), Crystal Palace Football Club (England) and Daring Brussels (Belgium). In his daily affairs, he will refocus on SAF Bottafogo, Daring Brussels and Eagle’s club acquisition strategy in the UK.

Chairman and CEO John Textor said:

“I am extremely proud of the sporting achievements of Eagle Football worldwide – both in Brazil, France and England, we have won historic league titles, cup titles and tournaments. However, if it works just as well off the court, it is clear that our management approach needs to be changed.”

Speaking of the Olympic Club in Lyon, he said: “Every of our clubs and their communities deserve to have a leadership team that is rooted in the local and capable of responding to competitive and non-competitive challenges. Michele is known to be the best person to run the OL and I am deeply pleased that our community has ushered in her leadership.”

He added: “Personally, I really look forward to the reduction of my daily management in Europe to focus on markets that allow us to run our clubs fully autonomously – invest, innovate, develop and compete. Lyon’s prospects are bright under Michele, and I will focus on Botafogo, Daring Brussels, and our next club in England.”
