Dresden 2025: Saxony Badminton AGM | Badminton Saxony eV

On May 10, 2025, this year’s general meeting of the Badminton Association of Saxony took place in Dresden. Representatives of 36 clubs with a total of 105 votes came together to discuss important topics for the future of Saxon badminton sports.

A central point of the meeting was the discussion about the amount of the membership fee. After a sometimes controversial exchange, the majority of the contribution was decided to raise the contribution to 15 euros per member from 2025. This is intended to secure the financial ability to act in the long term in the face of increasing costs.

Another important item on the agenda was the choice of the sports attendant. Maik Hänig, who had been temporarily taken over for a few months now, was officially elected and will now continue to continue working as a sports manager.

The focus was also on digitization of the game: From the 2025/26 season, the “Nuliga” platform for digital processing of the game and association is introduced. This marks an important step towards modern, efficient association work.

As part of the meeting, a new logo and design of the association was presented and adopted. Special thanks go to Sebastian Storz, who was responsible for the design implementation.

At the end of the meeting, two upcoming major events were pointed out that will take place in Dresden in 2025: First, the final Four of the 1st Badminton Bundesliga as part of the finals, which will be held in the ball sports on August 3, 2025. On the other hand, the World Transplant Games, which will bring numerous international guests to the state capital from August 17 to 24, 2025.
