Writing

In an operation carried out in Culiacán, Sinaloa, federal security elements secured an underground tunnel of approximately 400 meters in length and eight meters deep that connected at least three homes allegedly used as security houses. There were around 200 firearms, as well as a war power team.

According to information presented by the Secretary of Citizen Security and Protection, Omar García Harfuch, the finding derived from military intelligence work. In addition to the Arsenal, the authorities secured machine guns, rocket launchers, eight launches and several vehicles with armor.

The operation is part of the National Security Strategy promoted by the Federal Government. Only between June 10 and 22, security forces arrested 1,233 people for high -impact crimes, among which 22 priority objectives were identified.

In the same period, the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office, the Secretariat of the Navy and the Ministry of National Defense, seized almost eight thousand tons of drugs and dismantled 48 clandestine laboratories in different regions of the country.

Since October 2024, the authorities reported the arrest of more than 24,000 people related to serious crimes, the confiscation of 178 tons of drugs and the destruction of one thousand 150 clandestine laboratories. The actions are part of a broader offensive that includes air surveillance with drones and the reinforcement of military presence in key states such as Sinaloa.
