A new young feeling made her debut in the major and she did not miss her debut against New York Yankees on Tuesday evening.
The right -hander of the Reds of Cincinnati Chase Burns, the second choice in total of the 2024 draft in the MLB, withdrew the first five strikers of the Yankees on sockets which he faced at his first departure.
The Reds finally won 5 to 4 in 11th round thanks to a simple Gavin Lux.
Burns has become the first launcher in the modern era (since 1961) to initiate his career with five withdrawals on consecutive takements.
Let’s say that the task was heavy for Burns in the first round, but he still withdrew in the stick Trent Grisham, Ben Rice and Aaron Judge. He then reserved the same fate in Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt in second, but Jaszz Chisholm put an end to his sequence by bunching a simple. Burns, however, stifled the threat by also withdrawing from Anthony Volpe.
However, things spoiled for Burns in fourth round. Rice first scored the first point of the match with a solo circuit. Volpe then produced two points with a triple that pushed Judge and Chisholm to marble.
Burns left the match after five rounds. He finished his work evening with eight withdrawals on sockets and he conceded three points on six strokes.
Christian Encarnacion-Strand was responsible that his new teammate does not undergo the defeat upon arrival in the major. He emptied the trails with a double in seventh round to create equality 3 to 3.
In the 11th round, Judge gave the fronts to the Yankees by marking on a bad throw. The Reds, however, scored two points on their return to the stick to save themselves with the victory.
Carlos Rodon did well in defeat with quality departure. He did not allocate a single point in six rounds on the mound, withdrawing five strikers on sockets.
