The 2024/25 Premier League season concluded in dramatic fashion, with Champions League berths decided, a trophy festivity decades in the making, and a few surprise results that shook up the final standings. While Liverpool’s dominant title run and the relegation of Ipswich, Leicester, and Southampton were settled weeks ago, the final day provided plenty of drama as teams battled for coveted European spots and sought to end their campaigns on a high note.

Liverpool and Arsenal had already locked in their Champions League spots, with Tottenham Hotspur joining them after their Europa League triumph earlier in the week. The final day was all about who would grab the remaining spots.

Aston Villa’s match against Manchester United was filled with drama. Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s red card just before halftime put Villa on the back foot. A disallowed goal for Morgan Rogers further fueled Villa’s frustration, with many questioning the referee’s decision to penalize Rogers for supposedly kicking the ball out of the hands of United’s goalkeeper. Amad Diallo’s header and a late penalty from Christian Eriksen sealed the win for United, who finished a disappointing season in 15th place.

Despite the loss, Aston Villa secured a Europa League spot by finishing sixth, a consolation prize after a season of highs and lows.

Palace Ruins the party at Anfield

The atmosphere at Anfield was electric as Liverpool celebrated their Premier League title in front of a full stadium for the first time in 35 years. crystal Palace, however, had other plans.
