2023/2024 Premier League Player of the Season rankings

The 2023/2024 EPL season is now in the history books, with Manchester City finishing top of the pile again. Erling Haaland added another Golden Boot to his pile, after helping his team earn a record-breaking fourth consecutive title. However, Haaland couldn’t defend his EPL Player of the Season title earned in 2022/2023 after being overpowered by Phil Foden.

Foden proved to be the Premier League’s difference-maker last season in a team packed with world-class operators. At only 23 years old, Foden managed to see off the competition from several Arsenal stars as Manchester City pipped Mikel Arteta’s side on the final day.

Here’s a closer look at the EPL Player of Season ranking for the top five players after 12 months of hard work, thrills, and endless drama.

1.     Phil Foden (Manchester City)

Manchester City has had plenty of creative players during Pep Guardiola’s era, but Phil Foden is almost eclipsing everyone. The 23-year-old is already a dominant player and gives Manchester City the chance to open matches with agility and speed in possession.

Foden recorded 19 EPL goals last season, his best league total that included a magnificent long-range strike over West Ham. His skills have made him among the most revered members of Man City’s all-star team and he seems unstoppable right now.

2.     Declan Rice (Arsenal)

The Gunners’ Club-record signing, Declan Rice became an instant success at Emirates after leaving West Ham to move across London instead of joining Pep Guardiola’s winning side. Declan is now on Mikel Arteta’s first team and you can use your sports welcome bonus Canada to bet on him to score in key games. The star player instantly earned the support of Arsenal’s fans with his crucial late goal that sealed their home win against Manchester United last August.

At 25 years old, Rice is unmatched in interceptions and ball recoveries and he is a real threat for forwards as shown in his incredible performance against West Ham and Chelsea. Declan has also showcased his dead-ball skills since he became Arsenal’s permanent corner taker early in 2024.

3.     Martin Odegaard (Arsenal)

Martin Odegaard is another brilliant player in The Gunner’s premier league arsenal. The Norwegian player has proven he can take the ball under pressure and has made a vital contribution with his possession. Odegaard is currently Arsenal’s most threatening player and hopes to win the Golden Boot next season.

4.     Cole Palmer (Chelsea)

Cole Palmer decided to join Chelsea last summer after lacking regular minutes at Manchester City. The 22-year-old was Chelsea’s brightest spark in a frustrating season, taking the lead role in Pochettino’s set-up.

Chelsea might have a long way before challenging EPL giants like Manchester City and Arsenal for the title, but they have an incredible tool in Palmer. However, it will be fascinating to see how Palmer develops at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.

5.     Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)

Ollie Watkins has been the main source of goals for Aston Villa since he joined the team in 2020. The 28-year-old recorded a career-best performance with 19 goals this season, including a tremendous finish to cap Aston Villa’s massive win over The Gunners at Emirates. He also managed to set up another 13 goals for his teammates, earning him the title of EPL’s Playmaker of the Season for recording the most assists.
