Moderator: Marco, welcome to the show! It’s fantastic having you join us. The Italian Indoor Fitarco 2025 championships have been highly competitive, with thrilling displays of skill across all disciplines. Can you tell us about the experience of competing and the intensity leading up to the final moments?
Marco Borsani: Thank you for having me. The competition was truly electrifying. The atmosphere, the pressure—it was everything an archer could want. From the initial qualification round, where I pushed myself to secure the men’s senior class title, to the intense matches in the Olympic Arco competition, it was a constant battle against both the opponents and myself.
moderator: Congratulations on the bronze! You had a near-miss in the final, losing out on gold to Musolese Federico after a second shoot-off. What was the feeling of that moment in the heat of the competition?
Marco Borsani: The feeling was bittersweet. The sheer focus required to stay within the moment is almost palpable in precision sports such as archery. While the bronze medal was deeply appreciated, the sting of losing the gold was undeniable. In the midst of the stress, I found subtle nuances in my form that I can use to better my performance for future competitions.I always view failure not as a personal criticism but as a valuable learning experience.
Moderator: Let’s dissect that final clash. You seemingly had a solid path to gold, with extraordinary victories. What tactical adjustments would you say contributed to your final score?
Marco Borsani: I actually had a great path to victory, with resounding victories. I recognized that in the penultimate match, I had some minor technical adjustments I needed to make to maintain that form and flow to continue that momentum. It was about meticulousness; every movement needed to be precise, every breath controlled, and every calculation measured. Looking back, I realize that some key adjustments in my approach to the target facilitated a more reliable performance.
Moderator: Your team, Arcieri del Roccolo, also achieved a notable silver in the team competition, missing the gold by just a single point. How would you evaluate the impact of team dynamics on the outcomes, given the pressure of such close competition?
Marco Borsani: Teamwork is intrinsically connected to one’s ability. Our team consistently demonstrated the essence of collaboration, support, and collective drive. A single point gap between first and second place highlights the intense competition, pushing every member to their limit. The level of readiness and understanding of the opponent during each match is also crucial to one’s strategy.

Marco Borsani: Consistency is key. It is about translating one’s training into a consistent performance during the matches. The ability to maintain focus, technique, and composure throughout a long qualification round is crucial for scoring high in the later stages of the tournament.
