Ashimeru’s RSCA Futures Rise: The Reason Why

Olivier Renard faces a crucial test at RSC Anderlecht in January. The sporting director must show that he can create order in a core that is bursting at the seams. Players need to be sold. One of them is Majeed Ashimeru.

The figures speak volumes: Anderlecht has more than thirty players under contract. Renard will therefore have to prune to restore balance to the group. One of the players who may have access is Majeed Ashimeru. The Ghanaian is part of the list that includes Mats Rits, Thomas Foket and Alexis Flips. The Purple & White hopes that Ashimeru can find a new destination relatively quickly.

According to The Last Hour Ashimeru is therefore given minutes at RSCA Futures to put himself in the spotlight. The midfielder is still under contract for a year and a half and does not have a heavy salary, as he received a performance-based contract under Jesper Fredberg. A transfer is preferred, but a loan where his full salary is taken over is also negotiable.

It remains remarkably quiet around Ashimeru for the time being. He was briefly linked to KRC Genk, but that was immediately thrown into the trash. Now that he has had a few minutes at RSCA Futures, he will get another chance to put himself in the spotlight.

In episode 21 of the second season of Tijd voor Voetbal, the penalty case in RSC Anderlecht – STVV is discussed, the coaching changes at KAA Gent and Club Brugge and also the dismissal of Thorsten Fink at KRC Genk. That and much more in Time for Football.
