Archery Elite Advance to National Finals
Aída Román,a seasoned archer and silver medalist at the 2012 London Olympics,has successfully navigated the initial phase of the national archery selection process. Among the top nine recurve archers, she stands poised to reclaim her place on the national team for the 2025 season, aiming for prestigious competitions like the World Cup and World Championships.
National selection Process: A Deep Dive
Over 200 archers, representing both recurve and compound modalities, participated in the initial selection held in Coahuila. This rigorous filter narrowed the field to the top nine archers in each category.
Second Phase: The final hurdle
The next stage of competition will take place at the National Center for Sports Talent and high Performance (CNAR) from January 30 to February 1. Twelve archers from the 2024 selection, including Olympic medalists Alejandra Valencia, Ana Vázquez, and Ángela ruiz, along wiht Matías Grande, Carlos Rojas, Bruno Martínez, Maya becerra, Dafne Quintero, Esmeralda Sánchez, Sebastián García, Juan del Río, and Máximo Méndez, will vie for a spot on the 2025 national team. From this group, eight archers per modality will emerge victorious.

In the men’s recurve division, Francisco Padilla, jesús Flores, Miguel Celaya, Diego Martínez, Francisco Márquez, Emilio treviño, Diego Ocampo, Saul Pech, and Sebastián Reyes successfully cleared the initial hurdle.

Men’s Compound: A Test of Strength and skill
The men’s compound competition is equally intense. Luis Lezama, Rodrigo González, Miguel Becerra, Elías Reyes, Pablo Pérez, Gadiel González, Víctor Portillo, Carlos Flores, and Diego Borbolla are pushing their limits to earn a place on the national team.
