HEEZE – Heeze-1’s badminton team clinched a remarkable 5-3 victory over their rivals, ASML-2, securing their top position in the league.
The match began on a challenging note for Heeze-1. Diana and Ruben faced a tough defeat in the mixed doubles, losing in a nail-biting three-setter. Yvonne and Dirk followed suit,dropping their mixed doubles match in straight sets.
The men’s doubles duo, Maarten and Dirk, put up a strong fight. Despite losing the first set 20-22, they bounced back too win the second set 22-16. The third set was a heartbreaker,as they narrowly missed the match point,ultimately losing 20-22.This left Heeze-1 trailing 3-0 early in the competition.
A Turnaround Triumph
Naomi and Diana turned the tide in the women’s doubles, securing a pleasant win in two sets. Naomi continued her dominance with a swift victory in her singles match. Maarten added to the team’s momentum with a well-earned win. Yvonne then delivered a decisive performance in her singles match, pushing Heeze-1 ahead 4-3. Ruben sealed the deal with a victory in the final game,ensuring a 5-3 win for Heeze-1. With only two matches remaining, the team has already secured a spot in the promotion group. their next challenge is against Phoenix 3 on january 29.
