This victory marks van der Poel’s fourth consecutive win, extending his remarkable streak to five Loenhout triumphs since 2017. Notably, the 2020 edition of the race was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Van der Poel’s dominance effectively ended Van Aert’s two-year winning streak at the Loenhout event.
The podium saw a strong performance from Belgian cyclist Thibau Nys, who secured second place, 14 seconds behind van der Poel. Laurens Sweeck rounded out the top three, narrowly losing out to Nys in a thrilling final sprint.

Sven: I have to say, Mathieu was simply phenomenal. He rode with such control and aggression, making it clear from the beginning that he wasn’t going to be denied victory. His form is impressive, and his tactical understanding of the course was truly masterful.
