Fodrek mužstvo prezval na konci novembra po odvolaní Xisca Muňoza. Vedenie klubu sa s koučom dohodlo na zmluve platnej do konca jarnej časti sezóny 2024/25. Kontrakt obsahuje aj opciu na ďalší súťažný ročník.
Fodrek už v Dunajskej Strede pôsobil v období od roku 2012 do 2018. Najskôr ako hráč, neskôr v pozícii hlavného trénera juniorky a asistenta pri A-mužstve.
Neskôr pracoval pri slovenskej mládežníckej reprezentácii a pomáhal aj trénerskému štábu v ETO FC Győr ako športový koordinátor.

„Veľmi si vážim ponuku vedenia,na čele s pánom majiteľom. Byť hlavným trénerom v takom veľkom klube je česť a zároveň aj veľká zodpovednosť. Pred nami sú veľké výzvy,situácia je však odlišná ako v novembri,teraz máme pred sebou celú prípravu. Potrebujeme sa dobre nachystať na ligu, no veľké slová sú zbytočné.
Pevne verím,že sa nám podarí nadviazať na záver jesene a mužstvo pripraviť na jarnú časť tak,aby boli všetci spokojní a naplnili sa ciele klubu. „Minulý týždeň sme po hodnotiacich rozhovoroch s Braňom dospeli k záveru, že práve on je súčasťou riešenia. Diskutovali sme o tom, ako posunúť mužstvo v najbližších mesiacoch a našli sme pevný spoločný základ, na ktorom môžeme stavať.
Teším sa na ďalšiu spoluprácu s Braňom a jeho štábom,“ vyjadril sa výkonný riaditeľ DAC-u Jan Van Daele.
