KMSK Deinze and Lommel will compete against each other in the final of the Promotion Play-offs of the Challenger Pro League. Deinze won 2-1 against Patro Eisden in their second leg of the semi-finals and thus qualified for the final. They will compete against Lommel, which eliminated Zulte-Waregem.

The visitors took an early lead in Deinze thanks to Marius Noubissi (18.). Deinze seemed to equalize just after the half hour mark, but Denis Prychynenko’s goal was ruled out for offside on VAR advice. After the break, the home team was able to take control. First, Kenneth Schuermans (62), who played for Patro in the youth series, hit the corner. And a little later Jellert Van Landschoot (71.) put the game in a final fold. He placed the ball nicely in the far corner, 2-1. At Patro, Jordan Renson received his second yellow card in the final minute of regular playing time.

Zulte Waregem eliminated, Lommel to final

Zulte Waregem will not be promoted to the Jupiler Por League after one year in the Challenger Pro League. Zulte Waregem started the season as a towering and self-proclaimed title favorite, but Essevee, especially at home, has remained far below par in recent months. Only on the final match day was coach Euvrard’s team able to obtain a ticket for the play-offs. The first leg against Lommel ended in a 1-1 draw at the Gaverbeek and halfway through it was still 0-0 in Lommel.

Lommel showed more initiative before half time, but Essevee had the best opportunities through Brüls and Vossen. Vossen was also extremely dangerous after the break and just before the hour mark he also scored, but his goal was disallowed due to Ndour’s offside.

Lommel seemed upset, but when Essevee had to continue without Brüls, the home team struck. Rosa painted a corner kick on the head of Schoofs and he headed the 1-0 onto the scoreboard. Essevee pressed for a while, but Lommel held firm and thus sealed the fate of Zulte Waregem, which will also play in the Challenger Pro League next season. Lommel and Deinze will decide between themselves who will advance to the jump-off matches against the number two from the Relegation Play-Offs.
